UFO - Young and Unionized

UFO is our introductory course for members under 35, held every autumn. Here you will get:

• Insight into the importance of the trade union movement
• Basic knowledge of laws and regulations in working life
• An understanding of solidarity and community

The course is ideal for new members who want to get to know the union's core values and activities.

The NTL Ung Conference

Attend the NTL Ung Conference, our annual meeting for members under 35! Here you will have the opportunity to:

• Discuss and adopt policy
• Elect new leadership
• Gain professional development and improve your meeting management and debate skills

Meet other young NTL members from across the country and help shape the youth agenda for the coming period. The conference is held every year by the end of March. To participate as a delegate, contact NTL at your workplace.

The Student Conference

NTL Ung's Student Conference gathers student members from all over the country for an educational and engaging weekend in Oslo, usually at the turn of January and February. Here you will have the opportunity to:

• Build a valuable network
• Learn about the trade union movement and political topics
• Meet other engaged students

The Apprentice Conference

Are you an apprentice in the state sector or another NTL-affiliated workplace? Then the Apprentice Conference is a must! Here you will:

• Meet other apprentices in the same situation
• Get a thorough introduction to your rights and current working and wage conditions
• Participate in discussions with key union representatives

Young Union Representative Conference

We are currently planning a conference for young union representatives. The conference will be relevant for those who are workplace representatives or members of a board locally or centrally in your branch. If you are on your way into a representative role, this conference will also be suitable for you. We will arrange topics and discussions regarding the role of a union representative when you are young.

Short Courses

Do you have a busy schedule? NTL Ung offers flexible short courses held directly at your workplace – whether you are at sea or in Oslo. We cover topics such as:

• The ABE reform and member benefits
• The Norwegian model and collective bargaining policy in a nutshell
• Surveillance in working life, rhetoric, and argumentation
• The six-hour workday, non-profit student welfare, labor rights, and pensions
• Sexual harassment

LO's Student and Youth Conference

Experience LO's Student and Youth Conference – the trade union movement's most important meeting place for young people under 35. At Sørmarka, around 100 young people from the entire LO family gather to:

• Exchange experiences
• Learn about the labor movement's struggles, both historical and current
• Explore international solidarity and politics

The conference is held every spring and is a fantastic arena for both inspiration and networking.

LO's Summer and Apprentice Patrol

For over thirty years, LO's Summer Patrol has been on the road to inform young workers about their rights. The patrol is organized by county every year in late June and early July. NTL covers lost earnings and travel/accommodation for members who wish to participate, regardless of how long you join for. Contact LO in your county and NTL Ung to join the summer's most beautiful and fun adventure!

In October and November, we also participate in LO's Apprentice Patrol, which travels around to check the working conditions of apprentices.

In addition, you can participate in NTL's regular courses and conferences, as well as the LO Stat Student and Youth Conference held every autumn. All courses and conferences are free to attend. Check NTL's course calendar or speak with your union representative for more information.
