For apprentices, students and young employees in NTL
NTL Ung is a place to engage for all members under 35 in the Norwegian Civil Service Union (NTL). As a young member of NTL, you are automatically in the target group for NTL Ung. We are the voice of the young in the union, and we raise our perspectives when needed, both internally, within the Norwegian Confederation of Trade Unions (LO), and towards politicians. We organize our own courses, conferences, and meeting places, and give young people in NTL an opportunity to build networks and competence for the future labor movement.
At every workplace, there should be a youth contact in the local NTL board with special responsibility for this. It is, and will always be, free to participate in activities organized by NTL Ung!
NTL Ung was established by decision of NTL's national convention in 2014. We elect our own young representatives at the NTL Ung conference every year, and also determine our own political platform. We are a clear political voice and are involved in many issues. The leader and deputy leader of NTL Ung are based at the union's head office in Oslo and collaborate with national associations and local branches on recruitment strategies, youth organizing, politics, and training. We also manage the union's focus on students through our campus initiative.
NTL is the largest trade union in the state sector, and all professional groups are welcome with us, regardless of your education. We also organize students, as well as employees in various organizations with state affiliation, such as NRK, non-profit organizations, the environmental movement, research institutes, and student welfare organizations.
Are you a student member and need assistance in your employment relationship? As a student member of NTL, you are part of the LO family. If you work alongside your studies, you do not have to stand alone when dealing with your boss. You have a strong trade union behind you if you need help, no matter where you work.
