Educational funding

As an NTL member, you can apply for an educational grant for course fees, books, and materials through one of our funds.

As an NTL member, you are affiliated with one of three funds. Which fund applies to you depends on where you work and which collective bargaining area you belong to.

Most NTL members are covered by the LO State Education Fund, but some members belong to the Virke OU-fund Tjenesteytende or the LO Education Fund.

What can you apply for funding for?

Common to most scholarship schemes is that they support professional development and education. They can, for example, cover costs such as:

  • Course, semester, and examination fees
  • Books and other necessary materials, including PCs and relevant software
  • Full-year studies, further and continuing education, and shorter work-related courses
  • Study trips, internships, or job rotation (applies to certain funds, with requirements for documentation and dissemination)
  • Additional expenses for temporary accommodation during study stays
  • Lost earnings for working professionals (in certain funds, taxable)

Note: The scholarship schemes may have different rules and limitations. It is therefore important that you check the detailed guidelines for each fund yourself before submitting an application.
