About the Norwegian Civil Service Union (NTL)

NTL is the trade union for employees in the state sector and organizations with public ties. We champion safer working conditions, fair wages and pensions, and a robust welfare state.

Who are we?

NTL is affiliated with LO and represents over 58,000 members. We organize everyone in the workplace, regardless of their education or position.

With more than 3,000 elected representatives, we stand firmly behind our members in wage negotiations and whenever challenges arise at work.

We fight for better working conditions, fair pay, and secure pensions. We insist that digitalization remains under public control, we resist the privatization of essential services, and we demand a strong environmental policy that puts people before profit. Some issues we resolve locally, while others require political action in collaboration with authorities and civil society.

A democratic organization

NTL’s highest authority is the congress, held every four years. It is here that the national committee, the union central committee, and the central political leadership are elected to govern the union between conventions. You can find more information about these bodies further down the page.
