Central Executive Committee

The Central Executive Committee is the supreme body that leads the daily operations of the Norwegian Civil Service Union (NTL) between the meetings of the National Committee and the National Congress. The committee is responsible for following up on decisions made at the National Congress and by the National Committee, and ensures that the union's work is conducted in accordance with the statutes.

Tasks of the Central Executive Committee

The Central Executive Committee plays a central role in NTL's strategic work and makes decisions necessary for the union's further development. They provide the necessary mandates to the administration to ensure efficient operation of the union. This includes:

  • Follow-up of decisions and priorities from the National Congress and the National Executive Board
  • Setting guidelines for the union's work
  • Approval of budgets and financial management

The Central Executive Committee is also part of the National Commitee, which is NTL's highest body between National Congresses.

Composition of the Central Executive Committee

The Central Executive Committee consists of:

  • The Union President
  • Two Deputy Presidents
  • Chief Treasurer
  • Seven representatives elected by the National Congress

The members of the Central Executive Committee are elected at the National Congress, which is held every four years. The representatives have a clear mandate from the members and are elected to ensure good governance and the safeguarding of the members' interests.

An important part of democracy in NTL

The Central Executive Committee plays a crucial role in the democratic system upon which NTL is built. Through its work, the committee ensures that it:

  • Promotes the members' interests in working life
  • Safeguards the union's values and objectives
  • Ensures a strong, clear, and responsible organization

The work of the Central Executive Committee is important for NTL to be a powerful voice for its members and a strong actor in the Norwegian trade union movement.
